Madrid is the capital and the largest city of Spain, over 5 million population. It is the third most populous city in the European Union, after London and Berlin.
Madrid has a modern infrastructure, but preserved the look and feel of many of its historic palaces, museums and monuments from the XIX and XVIII centuries. Madrid has great financial and shopping districts, highlighting the surroundings of Puerta del Sol and what´s known as the Golden Mile due to the location of the best world brands. You can walk down the Serrano street and enter the most sophisticated shops of the area. This city never sleeps, and many of its districts, as bars, pubs and discos are always full of people. Some of the most popular night destinations include the neighbourhoods of: Huertas- Puerta del Sol, between Atocha and Paso del Prado for the younger groups and Paseo de la Castellana are destinations for the Madrilenians and also filled with tourists day and night.
